Valles de
San Juan |

 |
In
the province of San Juan, terroirs are situated
in the valleys irrigated by the Jachal and
San Juan rivers. In the province there are
more than 46,000 hectares of vineyards rendering
their fruit in oases like Tulum Valley, Jachal
Valley, Calingasta, Iglesia, Zonda Valley,
Ullum Valley and Pedernal Valley, at maximum
heights of 1,300 meters above sea level. The
valleys lying at higher altitudes have cooler
summers, and their thermal amplitude is ideal
for growing the varieties used in the production
of fine wines.
It is worth highlighting that the winemakers
and winegrowers in the region are currently
undertaking the transformation of the viticulture
industry, as evidenced by the decisive addition
of technology, the improvement of vine handling
techniques, and the plantation of new hectares
of grape whose quality is adapted to the agri-ecological
environment. |
